What happens when the TV screen is turned off and only junk remains before your eyes? In Tijuana there are just a couple of Mexican public TV channels and over 10 American ones. It is madness to live thinking one can reach the dream California lifestyle we see in these channels and overcome cultural differences that separate us from it. It is madness that Guerrera, a drug lord from the border, thinks she can reach this if her American boss promotes her from lackey to business partner, that's a border even she can't cross. Madness rarefies but also saves Guerrera, in the same way it does to Tijuana itself, it pushes them to keep fighting, perhaps they will never achieve it, but they remain alive in their struggle.
