The Age of Change (1983)

In the 1980's 'The Age' newspaper in Melbourne underwent major technological change when it computerized all of its operations. This video looks at the impact of the new technology on employees: journalists, editors, compositors, telephonists, printers and management. It also explores the role of the newspaper and its place alongside the electronic media of radio and TV broadcast, cable TV and other "on line" communications.
