Duffle Bag Baby

A young pregnant immigrant woman, ISABELLA ORTEGA, and her husband, PEDRO, cross the border in search of a better life in America. With border Patrol on their heels, Isabella delivers their baby prematurely moments after Pedro is believed mauled by a pack of guard dogs. Broken and disheartened, the struggling young mother searches out a job working the nightshift at the same hotel where Pedro was scheduled to work. Desperate, and with no one to care for her baby, Isabella begins to bring the tiny infant to work with her in a duffle bag - telling everyone that the bag contained her lunch. Then one night she leaves the baby unattended in the car - just for a moment. Upon return she discovers that her car had been broken into and the duffle bag had been stolen...with the baby inside.
