In both its story on and off the screen, 'Flaneurs' is a film about cities and city life. Made for a micro-budget of less than £1,500 ($2,400), this completely independent feature film was born out of the pure artistic passion of a community: a collection of aspiring writer/directors, camera operators, sound mixers and actors all working together to create something that spoke of the city they live and have lived in. Filmed entirely on location in Portsmouth, UK, the film tells the story of a chance meeting between two strangers who, finding themselves mutually drawn to one another, embark on intense encounter that plays out as they walk and talk the streets together. The conversations they share speak of their mutual desire to find their place in the city they inhabit, a city captured on film by those who have lived, worked and studied within the images on screen.
