Storyline:  During World War II, two men must deal with racism and life after the war on a rural Mississippi farm. Two families at odds, yet united by the farmland they share. An uneasy friendship challenges the brutal realities of the South in the context of Jim Crow laws. An incredible story intelligently told by her director Dee Rees, visually stunning and relevant to the issues it addresses. It was nominated for 4 Oscars.
