Waiting to Die (2012)

Several years after the Zombie apocalypse, two young men are scraping together an existence of survival in an abandoned hunter's shack, deep in the back woods of Pennsylvania. In the daylight, the two struggle to maintain their complicated relationship, grappling with conflicting emotions of dependence and irritation towards each other. At sunset, the zombies plague the night. In order to survive the coming winter, Victor and Charlie must trek to a barn miles away to procure seeds. Within the shadows of the barn, the zombies find them. Here Victor and Charlie's relationship takes a turn as Victor blames Charlie for the attack. Then, when Charlie captures, traps, and keeps a zombie tied to a pole -- insisting on feeding it from his and Victor's meager food supplies -- Victor explodes. The two have a shouting match that results in Charlie storming into the woods. When dusk falls and Victor has not seen Charlie's return, Victor becomes frightened and his anger swiftly rebuilds as he takes to the woods to find Charlie. When Victor finds Charlie, the zombies attack and Victor must run, leaving Charlie for dead. But Charlie is not dead.
