The feature documentary, A Castle in Brooklyn, King Arthur, narrated by Golden Globe Award winner, Brian Cox, is a riveting, seven year condensed time capsule of New York life. The intimate and journalistic documentary by filmmaker, Tyler A. Chase, A Castle in Brooklyn, King Arthur, brings us through the doors of the iconic Broken Angel building and into the world of its creators, the visionary, Arthur Wood and his wife, Cynthia as they cling to their life's work, the Broken Angel building, the last symbol of the bohemian artist culture that once permeated Brooklyn, NY. In the 1970's, visionary artist, Arthur Wood, and his wife Cynthia buy a derelict building on auction in the Clinton Hill/BedStuy section of Brooklyn, N.Y. In the twenty six years that follow, they recreate the structure into a 108 foot sculpture/building that they called the Broken Angel. The objet trouvé building becomes a celebrated Brooklyn sculpture/landmark. The Woods are loved by their neighbors who see the iconic structure as a beacon of freedom and people come from all over the world to see it, often being guided through it's multiple rooms by Arthur. There are television shows and magazines articles about it including an article by the Pratt School of Architecture. A mysterious incident turns their lives upside down and forces the elderly couple to lay everything on the line in order to protect their home and lifestyle. The filmmaker becomes embedded with the Woods during their struggles and investigates many of the circumstances and individuals involved.
