'New Shoes: Today's Clowns in Europe' is a documentary about Clowns of the turn of the century, from Carlo Colombaioni, who worked with and inspired Fellini, up to the present. It offers a vision of the contemporary stage clown, from the point of view of the most renowned figures of the genre, who show us how they think and act onstage and off. Through the play of two young woman clowns, we discover how these actors and the clowns they incarnate face the different aspects of life. Because of their sense of humor and the editing rhythm the documentary makes you cry and laugh like a good theater clown show would do. Is not only about clowns but about life and death, about humanity and aging. Interviewed clowns are some of the most important and popular theater clowns that work in Europe.
