Eleven thousand years ago, a discovery at the heart of America changed the history of the continent. Today, at a distance of over 3 thousand kilometers in Los Angeles, CA, indigenous women, heiress to this knowledge, continue to pass it on via their art of cooking. This documentary is a gastronomical adventure of recipes that have outlived thousands of years and tell the story of cultural survival and resilience of 7 indigenous Mesoamericans immigrants. Narrated in their own voice, these women share different stories, some bitter-sweet, others rich and diverse, as the ingredients found in their culinary odyssey.
