Sleepover is a sixty minute retrospective film documenting the coming of age of four suburban Milwaukee girls over the course of three sleepovers in ten years. How do friendships translate and morph over a decade of personal change? What are heart to heart conversations about? What is forgotten and what is retained? Sleepovers, an introspective sixty-minute narrative examines these critical questions as it traces the lives of these girls. Through the genre of collaged composite, we witness their trials and triumphs towards adulthood as they over come issues of divorce, alcoholism. anorexia and gender stereotyping. This unique journey in time is relevant globally despite its location in the American present. Fostering empathy and eliciting the importance of friendship is the film's purpose.
