A documentary of the amazing recovery of Senior Airman Brian Kolfage, Jr. On 11 Sep 2004, at Balad AB, Iraq, Brian was severely injured by the blast from an enemy mortar round that landed only three feet from where he had been walking. Brian was blown 30 feet into the air, minus both legs, and his dominant right hand was mangled beyond repair. Amazing the medical team by simply remaining alive, Brian Kolfage set a record by being the fastest medical transport from Iraq to a hospital Stateside. While a patient at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he was told that he would never walk again. Eight months after his injuries, Brian skied down a black-diamond trail at a Rocky Mountain resort. He is the most severely wounded Air Force enlisted survivor in history. Brian is now an accomplished public speaker, telling the public the unknown aspects of the life of a Wounded Warrior. And, as a result of this exposure, SrA Brian Kolfage, Jr., is now embarking upon an acting career -- in addition to pursuing a degree in architecture.
