Buka Barane is the name given to a rainbow in Kurdish. The documentary opens with a photograph from 1989. A photograph of primary school children in front of their school at a village of Befircan of the township of the province Hakkari, Yuksekova. Yuksekova is highly populated by Kurds. 23 years after the photograph was taken, there is going to be a wedding at the village and it will be a reunion for them.They tell us about their life since then. The documentary shows the impact of the war between the Kurdish Guerrillas and the Turkish army on the village, upon the children. They all hope for another wedding which can take place in time of peace.
