There is a Cuba that moves away from salsa, rum and sand, an island with a soul that crosses borders in the greatness of its story. However, with the end of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Socialist Alliance in 1991, Cuba began abruptly the worst experience of its story. This documentary portrays through the Cubans voice how were the years of greatest darkness, hunger and hopelessness of the country and how in 2013, the year 55 of the Socialist Revolution, the population manages to adapt to new realities.
