Bruno (55) and Lisa (28) both travel independently across East Germany. They immerse themselves in a series of small, unfamiliar environments, and free themselves slowly from the bonds and restraints of the past, and the future. In his portmanteau film, the young director, Daniel G. Schwarz, takes the observer on a journey through seven East German towns and cities. Together with the two protagonists, the film guides us through a fascinating succession of small, authentic milieus. The seven stories fluctuate between written stories and real incidents, calling upon the spectator to form their own images. Calm, well-nigh poetic scenes characterize and depict a cinema of genuine discovery. The film is carried forwards simply by movement, time and rhythm.
