Welcome back to the Pilates-4- series! Pilates-4-Athletic Conditioning is for the experienced Pilates participant. The exercises contained in this DVD are based on the teachings of Joseph H. Pilates, though may be modified to increase difficulty in order to challenge the more advanced exerciser. Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise that focuses on core strength and stability, while trying to lengthen and strengthen the muscles. The breath pattern helps to facilitate ease of movement and ultimately the participant should feel longer and leaner as a result of improving posture. The matwork exercises do not require much space, so the individual should be able to perform them in the comfort of their own home. The bonus tracks are for individuals who own either a Reformer and/or a Stability Chair and require that the participant be familiar with the utilization of either or both apparatus. As with any exercise program, it is always recommended to confer with a personal physician before starting a new exercise plan.
