ZACK AND ADDIE explores the possible root causes of an internationally notorious 2006 French Quarter murder-suicide that involved dismemberment, beheading, and the cooking of human remains. The documentary addresses issues including the impact of Iraq and Bosnian military experience; post Hurricane Katrina P.T.S.D closeted homosexuality in the military; drug/ alcohol abuse; the disappearing safety net reflected by an absence of psychiatric services in crisis; sexual abuse of children; and the role and responsibility of the media during tragedy and disaster. In exploring this confounding, mysterious crime, this film raises as many questions as it answers.
