Burial Rites

The movie is based off the book of the same name by Hannah Kent. It is set in Iceland in the year 1828. It tells the true story of young Agnes Magnúsdóttir who has been charged with murder. Agnes has purportedly brutally murdered her former employer and found guilty of this heinous crime in a stark Icelandic village. Agnes has been sent to an isolated farm to live with a family until the execution can take place.
