As rain pelts the streets of inner city Sydney, Chris feeds a colony of stray cats. It's safer to feed them under the cover of darkness as poison has previously been found in their water. Helen sings as she feeds her strays, ruing the stigma of 'evil' that cats have garnered in society. Darrien is a hoarder; the cats get her out of bed on the mornings when depression overwhelms her. She gives them food, they give her joy. Her partner Andy speaks about loving someone on a deeper level. It is this compassion that unites the subjects of this film; a group of individuals putting aside their personal hardships for the greater good. Their deeds remain unseen, but the personal effect in their lives and in the lives of the cats is immeasurable.
