SKATEBOARDING WITH SADDAM is a high energy love story-thriller set against a backdrop of falling scud missiles. The film is inspired by real life events and influenced by the classic coming of age stories of "The Catcher in the Rye" and "Stand by Me." The story centers around Israeli-born "American" skateboarder, Daniel, who recently graduated from high school. Alienated by the phony reality of his suburban Los Angeles existence, he travels to Israel that summer to visit his friends and grandmother. His journey becomes one of self-discovery and supreme challenge when he faces the nightly threat of sudden explosive death. Arriving in Israel, Daniel begins to feel more at home with his Tel-Aviv skater-friends than with the kids back in LA. Then he meets his first girlfriend in the co-ed bathroom of a Tel-Aviv dance club and quickly falls in love. Everything seems ideal until the reality of life in Israel harshly sets in. For in the middle of the perfect summer of 1990, Saddam Hussein invades Kuwait and Israel is suddenly under real threat. Daniel is forced to decide between self-preservation or staying true to his friends and the girl that he loves. Should he return to the safety of Los Angeles? Or should he put on his gas mask and stay with his friends in Israel as the scud missiles start to fall?
