Mellanrumsfruar (2020)

A surreal and slightly absurd comedy about the art of surviving in between. Three decadent women artists, Majken, Karna and Ursula, live in the bohemian quarter Möllan in Malmö, Sweden. They take each day as it comes. Suddenly they get evicted from their apartment. Djurfors Vision Group, with the unscrupulous CEO Pierre Djurfors, is buying up the whole quarter in order to build new shopping malls and real estates. He wants to clean up the area from subversive elements. Homeless, humiliated and broke the three women find themselves adrift, carrying their big rug. As bag ladies with no goals they drift around town with their old rug. Marginalized and unwanted. After a while Ursula comes up with a brilliant idea. She knows of a hidden space between the walls. Furtively they occupy this hidden room behind the walls of their old apartment. An oblique space in between. A panic room with no room for panic. How long will they be able to live there? Only chaos goes with chaos.
