This is Frankie's first feature length video, and in making it, one objective was to blur the line of reality to allow space for the surreal. She did this by using material inspired by experiences with female artist friends on the East Coast. Upon relocating to Southern California, the artist cast her peers in the Visual Arts and Music Departments of UCSD, to play caricatures of her East Coast crew. Beyond their acting roles, the artistic work of the cast is featured within the video. In this way, We are wild dogs with turquoise fur laughing at full moons. exists in part as a curated exhibition within a video, thus challenging the notion of what is accepted as a gallery space.
