In the dunes near Timbuktu, the proud shepherd Kidane lives a quiet life with his wife Satima, daughter Toya and shepherd Issan. Despite the oppressive rule of the jihadists' faith in the city, the family remains protected. But their peaceful existence takes a sudden turn when the chaos of Timbuktu invades their lives.
