Roll with It (2013)

In 2010, Muscular Dystrophy New South Wales (MDNSW) became the first Australian disability service provider to offer the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Since then, 17-year-old Melanie Tran has become their most successful Participant in the modified scheme and is about to complete her penultimate Gold Award. 'Roll With It' explores Melanie's 'Physical Recreational/Sport' section of the award in which she downs 40 frames at her local 10-pin bowling alley every fortnight. Despite facing system wide muscle wasting brought on by Spinal Muscular Atrophy - Type2, she maintains an unwavering focus on developing her skills in the sport of ramp bowling. One frame at a time, Mel presents an inspiring and enlightening perspective on the challenges of living atypically.
