In the early hours of April 9, 1940, Denmark finds itself plunged into war as German forces breach its borders. Leading the charge into the unknown, Second Lieutenant Sand and his bicycle company emerge as the vanguard of Danish soldiers, bravely confronting the invading enemy on this pivotal day in history. Few war films are as unambitious and as focused as that, which is why it is such a refreshing addition to the genre.
