The Start of the Marathon

When the 2012 New York City Marathon was canceled after Hurricane Sandy, several thousand runners traveled to the storm-ravaged home of the marathon start, Staten Island, to participate in the initial relief efforts. Director Meshakai Wolf follows these volunteers during two visits, lyrically capturing the devastation, fellowship and resilience they saw.
