Missing You (2021)

Set in the suburbs of Northern, VA in early summer 2020 - during the start of civil unrest in DC - a somber middle-aged man struggles to get over a woman that he was never that close with. The film follows "Brian", a politically apathetic burnout attempting to cope with his pain through drinking and leaving voice-mail messages for his ex. After disappointment sets in from his calls going unanswered Brian turns on the radio to hear a report about the 'Black Lives Matter' protests in Washington, DC. As a protester speaks to a deep-seeded communal pain, and an empirical path forward, Brian continues to participate in the same behaviors that drive him deeper into sadness.
