This is a portrait of Soon OK Jung, a S. Korean born artist, based in Brooklyn who supports herself by selling 'fashion jewelry' in wholesale trade markets all over the U.S. thereby spending much time on the road. Originally made as a three-channel-video installation, this work was substantially revised into a single-channel documentary video in 2014. In observing Soon OK's life, one sees an irony in the aesthetic connections between the commercial goods she handles daily for the reluctant 'reality' and the art works she creates where she believes her most 'pure' heart lies. In this work, the images from Jung's dichotomous life are inter-meshed in a way that one can feel the mechanics of her life as a unified whole.
