Sehnsucht (1990)

Two brothers who were born or grew up in Germany cannot cope with the new situation when the family returns to their Turkish homeland. After an adventurous journey, they return to the land of their childhood and youthful dreams. Their illegal return raises seemingly insurmountable problems. The densely staged, intensively edited youth film sensitively takes up the problems of the children of emigrant workers who are unfamiliar with their parents' country and who are no longer welcome where they grew up.
