RED CARPET BURN is a film which questions and explores the commodity of celebrity. This is not your typical documentary with sit down interviews, but 'first person' hand epic journey, that blends animation, graphics and paparazzi action figures into a kind film that not only questions and explores the commodity of celebrity but also attempts to create instant celebrity. The filmmaker experiments with the possibilities of celebrity, by creating a faux Festival du Tapis Rouge in Montreal, and also by creating a beautiful dress made of 35mm strips of film and sneaking a unknown woman onto the red carpets of the Cannes Film Festival and the Oscars wearing the gown.
