The US women's ski-jumping team, a tight-knit group of 7 athletes, train and compete 10 months a year. They have also been dismissed by and simultaneously pulled into the politics of international sport where they are defending their right to be part of the highest honor in amateur athletics. Ski jumping was the only sport in the Olympics that excluded women. Was it old-fashioned men holding back women? Was the money for X-Games or male jumpers only? Were these women not good enough? After years of strategies and international partnerships, a gender discrimination suit was brought on behalf of international women's ski jumping against the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. But it was the passion of Women's Ski Jumping USA that reshaped a sport.
