MINDSPACES: The Artists Studio is a documentary film narrated by Denis O'Connor, one of New Zealand's foremost sculptors who has occupied the same studio for 40 years. He guides us through two of the most famous studios of the twentieth century - the rooms where painters Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud spent their working lives and fiercely guarded their privacy. We meet Denis' oldest daughter, the distinguished archaeologist Dr. Blaze O'Connor, who grew up in and around Denis' studio and later was on the team which surveyed and relocated Bacon's studio to Dublin. Blaze and Denis had many conversations about the sacred nature of the artists studio but Blaze died in 2009 at age 35. MINDSPACES: The Artists Studio is a continuation of those conversations.
