Other People (2018)

'So, where are you really from?' We all have moments when we sense we are somehow out of place. It could be while waiting in a coffee shop or taking a college campus tour or anywhere a bystander finds our presence suspect. This film looks at Tarek, a Muslim man of South Asian descent, as he attempts to navigate foreign territory -- a princess birthday party with his five-year-old daughter, surrounded by suburban white moms. A tense moment between Tarek and the party hostess collides with a multi-princess meltdown.
