A Jolly Good Fellow (2017)

A Jolly Good Fellow, taking its cue from the golden age of Hollywood screwball comedies, is set in 1936, on a wealthy estate in Westchester County, New York. The heir to the family name, Teddy Portersmith, along with his sister Dinah, tries to dazzle the reporters invading their home to do a profile on the family's patriarch. But as Teddy's homosexuality and party-boy behaviors risk being exposed, his anxieties rise; he seeks comfort in the family's butler, Gerald - and senses a clandestine romance might be possible. While Dinah and Nick bicker their way to an inevitable romance downstairs, Teddy attempts to bridge the chasm of his and Gerald's racial and economic differences. What Teddy sees as possibility, Gerald sees as a threat to his job, home, and safety. The two find themselves trying to smile through a heart-breaking confrontation at Dinah's birthday party.
