Black Muslim Girls and Women all over the world are your neighbors, co-workers, community leaders. Through poetry, photography, and the true stories of these women you get a glimpse of what it's like for us to live amidst iniquity and keep keeping on. Shot during the last ten days of Ramadan, this experimental film is the inspired vision of two Black women filmmakers. Shot for submission to the ARRAY + Getty Grant, the two women, Nia Malika Dixon and Ayanna Qadeem, pooled their talents and resources and created this film with no funding. Community members contributed their locations, former teachers shared their equipment, and a talented young man created a song specifically for the film.
