Nautika (2018)

The story takes place on the shore of Kelantan. Mahmud is a fisherman who uses traditional ways of fishing. Mahmud who is a man of few words is hardworking and prides himself in being able to support his family. One day, he finds himself in a dire situation where he is unable to support his wife because of the monsoon season. Its a dangerous time of the year when the waves are high and the yield is minimal. To make matter worst, his wife Aisyah is also 8 months pregnant. Afraid of not being able to provide for his family, Mahmud resort to following his friend's advice to use an illegal method which is blast fishing. Out of desperation, Mahmud uses the bombs knowing his action to be illegal, destroying the underwater environment and disturbing the sea. He ends up stranded on a rock in the middle of the sea after his boat was confiscated by coast guards. Making his journey to survive become even more challenging. He faces both natural and supernatural obstacles where for two days he is stuck at sea, being drained physically and mentally. Is he going to survive and returns home to his wife?
