In the midst of peace negotiations following the end of World War I, President Woodrow Wilson suffers a debilitating stroke, and at the behest of his cabinet and the aid of his trusted doctor, his wife Edith Wilson secretly takes over presidential duties in order to carry out his mission, to protect his legacy and most importantly, to bring the United States to a peace agreement with its allies.
