Proibido Nascer no Paraíso (2021)

For 17 years, women from Fernando de Noronha-PE have been forced to leave home to have their babies. Those who refuse are coerced to leave, not even natives can choose to stay. The ban coincides with the explosion of tourism on the island and creates conflict between businessmen and those who have the right to land. The film follows the saga of three pregnant women from traditional families from pregnancy to childbirth.
