It has now been 10 years since the shocking fall of the iconic investment bank Lehman Brothers marked the beginning of the most catastrophic global financial crisis since the Great Depression. Who was really to blame for the financial crisis? How has the financial system changed since then to make the banks more stable and resistant to another crisis? Have things truly changed at all? The documentary film, BANKER, takes on these questions head on through the eyes of six Wall Street bankers who lost of their jobs in the midst of the 2008 crisis. We follow their 10-year, soul-searching journey from 2007 to today; witnessing their struggles as they rebuild their lives in the aftermath of their lay-off. These are bankers exposed as they have never been before- raw, unfiltered and shockingly candid- as they answer to their responsibility for the 2007-2008 crisis and the possibility for another crisis in the not too distant future.
