As far as fairytales are concerned, there is always more than meets the eye. Briana and Ashley are both devastated by the lack of romance that exists in 21st-Century Southern California. During a movie night (following yet another romantic let-down), the two girls turn for inspiration to the classic 'Sword & Cape' tales of sweeping romance set in 17th-Century Spain. Here we enter the world of the evil Don Cortez, who has kidnapped the beauteous Donna Maria to spite a young peasant, Don Juan Diego. Though impoverished, Diego is a young romantic, whose altruism is a callback to a time of chivalry before the corrosion of this uninspired, modern age. After suffering at the hands of Don Cortez and his henchmen, Don Juan Diego seeks training in swordplay and self defense at the hands of Padre Axel D'Iglesias (the most feared swordsman in all Galicia). Don Juan Diego takes a vow of silence, and begins the process of transformation from humble peasant, to a highly trained, and deadly man-at-arms. Diego then challenges Don Cortez to single combat, and goes to meet him so as to finally settle this matter of honour in a fight to the death, and prove, once and for all, that true love always wins the day. Or does it?
