The Home Group

The Home Group is a dramatic series which follows nine primary characters through their daily lives and struggles while dealing with all aspects of being an addict in recovery. The series is written by Marcus B Meyers, an addict with over thirty three years in recovery and an active member of a twelve step program. The script brings together a group of diverse, larger than life, characters with varying lengths of clean time and little in common except the disease of addiction and their desire to stop using and change their lives. The only commonality of the group of characters is the weekly twelve step group they all attend, The Home Group. The characters are fictitious but the series is based in reality as to the challenges, heart aches, successes, failures, joys, hopes, and tragedies of life. And the bond made during the journey of one addict helping another addict work a program of recovery and stay clean while dealing with life on life's terms. The Home Group, just like life itself, is a mixture of dark comedy and drama where nobody gets out undamaged but it's worth fighting for.
