LIFE CRIME is a character-driven story that asks, "What is a just sentence?" Through Reggie Austin's personal journey from drug addicted convicted murderer serving 35 years inside California prisons, to free man facing his tattered connections to society and family, the film exposes the impact on men of color of harsh sentencing and parole practices, as part of the larger story of mass incarceration. Combining breathtaking musical performances, rare vérité from inside San Quentin prison, and scenes of raw emotion adjusting to life outside, Reggie Austin's story unfolds.
