Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022)

Based on "The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye" by A. S. Byatt, this fantasy romantic drama film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 features Tilda Swinton interpreting a professor who discovers an antique bottle which releases a djinn who grants her three wishes. As she struggles to think of her desires, the genie tells her stories of its past which eventually makes her want to be loved.
