“What keeps me going as an artist is my interest in society's obsession with identity, because I'm not sure I really believe that identity exists.” Tilda Swinton is a cult British actress, renowned for her distinctive acting style and versatility. She began her acting career working with the Royal Shakespeare Company. These first steps in the theater laid the groundwork for her later transition to film. Her first films were with director Derek Jarman: she made her film debut with Caravaggio (1986). This role introduced her to auteur cinema, a terrain that would define much of her later career. She is best known for her role in the film version of Virginia Woolf's novel Orlando (1993) and for her role in Michael Clayton (2007), which won her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She played the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia films. He collaborated several times with director Wes Anderson in films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) or The French Dispatch (2021), and even participated in Marvel productions Doctor Strange (2016) and Avengers: Endgame. Among his most acclaimed works are We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), directed by Lynne Ramsay, and Suspiria (2018), where he once again demonstrated his ability to take on intense and complex roles. Throughout his career, he has actively supported LGBTQ+ rights, her commitment was not limited to activism alone, but was also reflected in her choice of projects, which challenge conventions and explore diversity in its many forms.
