ASEMAN follows two Middle Eastern siblings as they attempt to find footing in the United States. Born a gifted runner, Aseman has joined the local High School Track and Field team, where he is confronted with bigotry and mocked for running barefoot. One day Aseman receives a letter from the US Department of Immigration, informing him that chain migration has been banned. This means that his father and mother will not be able to join them in the United States. Against his better judgment, Aseman decides to hide the news and the letter from his sister Leila. Riddled with guilt for hiding the letter and doubting whether he is good enough for the Track Team, Aseman is caught in a transit between two worlds, failing to find footing in either. Will Aseman be able to adapt to his new circumstances, or will he fail to fit into these new shoes?
