The Sin of Being a Woman is the story of an indomitable woman who fought a relentless and uphill battle against prejudice, convention and authority at a difficult time in a difficult part of the world. The documentary delves into the life and work of Nezihe Muhiddin, one of Turkey's earliest and most vociferous feminists. It looks to tell her story and remind new generations of how much we owe this pioneering and amazing woman - who literally sacrificed her life for women's equality. The Sin of Being a Woman aims to ensure that Nezihe's incredible struggle and achievements -- which have been systematically downplayed, even erased, from memory and history books -- are documented and available in particular to young generations of women as they face their own gender inequality battles in its myriad forms today.
