For Anthony (2018)

Leaving Portland was the saddest day of my life. Anthony in my 30s (here now, Seattle or LA) symbolizes a DJ whose work I like on NPR. Anthony Portland symbolizes my friend's son. Anthony Zavin's dad was the first guy to ask me a question. I responded without talking. Don Zavin died of cancer after my family left Portland. Their family visits Seattle every year for Thanksgiving Weekend and Anthony's parents and my parents get together at the Oregon Coast occasionally. Anthony's mom and mine became friends during my mom's grad school stint at the U. of O.. AZ is now 22. Anthony New Mexico symbolizes my uncle, Anthony Sandoval's world records for the marathon. Couldn't carry the torch in the 1980 Olympic Games ceremony because it was boycotted by the United States. A very successful cardiologist.
