Please Don't Die Roger Berman

When a beloved fantasy author has a heart attack and is hospitalized, his 12-year-old biggest fan runs away from his single mom and bullied life in order to force the old man to finish his book series before he dies. Refusing to leave the hospital without the completed works, the boy volunteers in the children's ward and inadvertently falls in love with a young cancer patient who helps the boy unlock the author's broken heart, and his own, before it's too late.
