Blue Sunday (2019)

When Ollie Dayton-Claus' parents realize that he was not included in his grandfather's will, after never really getting to know him, they send him to stay with his estranged grandmother. However, their want for Ollie to connect with her has nothing do with family, but more so their greedy need to get money out of her once she passes. Evelyn is initially hesitant to be with Ollie, taking him to places that are part of her normal routine, including bath houses and widowed ladies dance classes, kicking off their relationship in not the most compromising agreement. Although they start of with feelings of discontent - Ollie finding her boring and crude and Evelyn being mistrustful of his youth - they soon learn how to see things from each other's perspectives. Evelyn finally allows Ollie to get close to her, and opens up in a way she has yet to do in a long time. The act of someone finally showing interest in him and not treating him like a child, shows Ollie that the future of his familial relationships is not completely hopeless. They both teach each other what life can mean regardless of their preliminary thoughts about one another, and it's this new understanding that allows Evelyn to mourn the loss of her husband and gives Ollie the ability to stand up for himself and accept love.
