Four long years after university, Phil - frustrated by life-long speech anxiety - uses an A.I. vocal inhibitor called the "Orator" to speak his true feelings to his increasingly distant friends, Natalie and Devon. In an attempt to somehow rekindle their dwindling post-graduation friendship, and to finally confess his romantic feelings for Natalie - his long-time crush - Phil meets with the two one wintry night after work, months since the trio last saw each other. However, as the Orator takes hold, Phil's intentions are jeopardized when he learns that he is unable to stop the device from speaking for him, resulting in Phil spilling out all of his pent-up frustrations towards his friends. As he battles with the technology, and creates greater rifts between him and the others than ever before, Phil's hopes of rejuvenating his past seem more and more faint.
