A journey into the multiple worlds of 39-year-old Aisha, a hunter, a commander, a stepmother and a wife. Aisha leads rescue and surveillance missions in northern Nigeria where she commands male hunters. Together they have liberated hundreds of people held captive by Boko Haram. The only girl among seven siblings, Aisha was initiated into hunting as a child by her father. She feels more comfortable in the company of men, and commands huge respect from her male colleagues despite the constraints faced by women in this conservative, predominantly Islamic society. Surrounded by young male hunters, Aisha takes care of their spiritual well-being according to the ancient rites of hunters and plays the role of a medicine woman. She was crowned 'Queen Hunter' of Adamawa State by the Emir whose palace is close by, and is where her husband holds a traditional title. When Aisha is not hunting game or tracking Boko Haram fighters, she sees to the needs of her husband and seven step children. For over 20 years, Aisha believed she was barren. It is her desire to have a child that motivates her to fight Boko Haram who use children as suicide bombers and sex slaves.
